Becoming an official member of the HTA is very important for us because we
trade association.
Our goal in doing this is nothing less than promoting the long-term
health and viability of of our members. If the CPSIA has taught us
anything, we needed the voice of Handmade Toy Alliance a year ago when
we could have fixed the CPSIA before it ever became law. For better or
worse, however, the CPSIA has brought us all together and this is our
opportunity to strengthen that bond.
The Handmade Toy Alliance is now incorporated and is in the process of
becoming a tax-exempt 501(c)(6) trade association. The amount of work
and money needed to accomplish this has been formidable. Thus far,
these expenses have been borne primarily by our board members, which is
not a sustainable solution. Legal fees alone amount to $2,000. Other
expenses include mailing list services, a booth at Toy Fair, domain name
registry, accounting software, and printing costs.
That is why we need your financial contribution to continue our work.
Now is the time to give a small amount of money to the Handmade Toy
Alliance and make a big difference. We have arguably been the most
effective voice arguing for reform of the CPSIA on behalf of small
businesses, such as Kidcessory Haven. Our accomplishments have been significant, but much more
work needs to be done. With your contribution, we can all continue that
work and build upon our successes.
Here's what we need you to do: go to
http://www.handmadetoyalliance.org/join-the-handmade-toy-alliance and
follow the links to complete our online membership form and then go to
http://handmadetoyalliance.org/join.htm to submit your membership
payment via paypal or check.
Please make your financial commitment to the HTA today. Help us create
a sustainable, meaningful alliance.
